The story of Gabriele Del Carlo

Born in Tuscany in 1984, Gabriele Del Carlo cut his teeth in his home region before joining some of Europe's most prestigious establishments. After a notable stint at Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence—a legendary address with a cellar of over 130,000 bottles—he continued his career at the highest level in Italy and then in France.

In Paris, he first joined the restaurant Le Cinq, then Le George at the Four Seasons Hotel George V, where he became head sommelier. With his approach that is both demanding and warm, he has established himself as one of the most respected sommeliers of his generation.

His talent has been recognized multiple times: Gabriele Del Carlo was named Best Sommelier of Italy twice, in 2011 and 2017—an extremely rare achievement in the world of wine.

Today, he brings his expertise to luxury hospitality groups as a director of sommellerie, while remaining deeply committed to teaching, education, and the simple pleasure of sharing a great bottle.
